Gary Brettnacher was a brilliant photographer and a better friend. It was Gary’s idea to call Neil Stebbins at Powder Magazine about heli-skiing and Steelhead fishing in Smithers, British Columbia. And it was Gary who, while packing thirty pounds of camera lenses, bodies and filters, matched me turn for turn, cast for cast. Gary’s extraordinary life ended in late July of 2020. The world is a far poorer place without him.
